The original catalogue was printed monthly in New York by the Royal Pattern Co. and was a subscription service highlighting fashion patterns for mail-order purchase. Drawings of the latest styles with written descriptions were included in each new month. In the April 1898 edition, subscriptions to Le Costume Royal were $3.50 per year. All 7 hand-drawn colored fashion plates are included in this edition.
