This listing is for 250 grams worsted weight seaweed yarn wound into a 'cake' ball.

The sea weed is sourced from enteromorpha flexuosa fibers that are in abundant supply in the brahmaputra delta (west Bengal). This seaweed, also known as macro algae, is harvested from the rivers and ponds and then sun dried. The regenerated fiber process takes the extruded filaments and wet spins into yarn. During this process waste fibers sometimes find their way into the spinning; you may notice bits of sparkly or even colored fibers in the yarn. The yarns dyes just like other bast fibers and colors well using both natural and synthetic dyes.
