This listing is for 1/2 oz (0.5 ounce) small batch studio dyed 100% USA Grown Upland Cotton. This cotton sliver is the last of my stash of the EZ-to-Spin Cotton which is no longer being produced. I am in the process of looking for a new supplier of long staple Upland Cotton. In the meantime, I thought I should go ahead a dye some of this for others to enjoy the craft of spinning cotton instead of it sitting in my studio not being used. So, Enjoy!

Notes: During shipping the cotton sliver may become compressed and flattened. If you find it difficult to spin, place the cotton sliver in a mesh bag. Put it in your dryer along with a damp towel and dry on heat for 10 mins. This should help to "puff up" the cotton fibers and aid in the spinning. Also if there is a knot at one end, then spin from that end. I was able to note the correct end on some lengths. This cotton is hand-dyed; each ounce will have slight variations in color hue and light/darkness. If you have a specific need in mind, please contact me and I can send you a picture of the exact bundle you will be receiving.

This naturally grown sliver is great for carding, spinning, knitting, felting --- the list goes on and on the many things you can make with the cotton roving. Have fun using this cellulose fiber to create unique art batts by mixing the cotton with other fibers like hemp or go wild and mix it with protein fibers such as wool and silk. Cotton can add color and strength to your spinning projects. Or on its own it is thought to have great "breath-ability" properties with its water absorption.

Listing for the cotton only and not any props used in the photography of the fiber
