Cotton Sliver, USA Organic (Texas), Upland Variety

This listing is for Certified Organic Texas Upland Cotton Sliver. This Certified Organic Cotton is from an organic cotton cooperative in Texas that was then sent to a USA mill to be organically processed into sliver form. The process takes the organic cotton, opens and cleans the fibers. The fibers are "carded" and arranged into the lovely sliver offered here. The fiber of this organic cotton is about 1/2" in length.

Note: This organic cotton can not be certified Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) because the cooperative bales all the farm's cotton together before sending it onto the mill.

This naturally grown sliver is great for carding, spinning, knitting, felting --- the list goes on and on the many things you can make with the cotton roving. Have fun using this cellulose fiber to create unique art batts by mixing the cotton with other fibers like hemp or go wild and mix it with protein fibers such as wool and silk. Cotton can add color and strength to your spinning projects. Or on its own it is thought to have great "breath-ability" properties with its water absorption.
